Why you decided to be a Field Service Engineer: Shortly after I finished my Associates degree, I was offered an opportunity to work for an Ultrasound company doing bench repairs and field service. As time went by, the job was mostly field service. Then I found myself waking up happy to go to work in field.
Advice you wish someone had given you when you first started working with ultrasound: Don't be afraid of not knowing. If a customer asks you a question you cannot answer, it's OK to find the right answer and get back to the customer as soon as possible.
Tip every ultrasound user/owner should know: Routine Preventative maintenance can save you money. Often I find problems early, when they are still fixable, rather than later when it's becomes unrepairable. Especially probes. Also, make sure your unit is fully booted down before unplugging from the power outlet. Otherwise, you can severely damage your hard drive and lose data.
Favorite part of your job: Taking things apart and putting it back together. Figuring out why things break, then fixing it. Problem solving. Helping customers is fun too!
Something people might not guess about you: I'm a hobby musician. I play a little bit of guitar, bass, and some piano. Then mix some trumpet in when time allows.

Favorite food: My wife's jerk chicken and my mom's stewed goat. And steak and pizza.
