Why you decided to be a Field Service Engineer: I became a service engineer by default. Trisonics’s was one of my only opportunities to gain experience into the biomedical field of work being fresh out of school but after 6 years of it, I couldn’t see myself clocking in and out at the same place everyday.
Advice you wish someone had given you when you first started working with ultrasound: Don’t stress over the small stuff because it isn’t worth it in the end. It causes more damage than it does good to a person mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Tip every ultrasound user/owner should know: Always clean your equipment and pay attention to everything on the machine because if you can catch an issue early, it will save you in the future.
Favorite part of your job: The troubleshooting of equipment is great but meeting all the different types of people that work around the healthcare field is the best. It really can make a person grow in life to understand each type of person and how to help them moving forward.
Something people might not guess about you: I grew up on a farm in a small town where physical labor was the way of life. Most of my customers wouldn’t recognize me outside of work because I have on jeans, boots, cutoff tee and a hat on with grease and oil covered hands.
What’s playing in your car when you’re driving to work on an ultrasound machine: 80’s and 90’s Country all day, everyday.
Favorite food: The food in front of me.
One item on your bucket list: Travel the Alaskan Highway.
